Episode 375: Bragging Rights Are Fun
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
On this week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast we revisit the announcement on Saturday that UVa’s season opener was moving (again) and that the Tech game would be postponed. Then, once we’ve set the table for what the season is supposed to be now, we dive into the annual preseason prop bets. Who’s going to score the first TD? Who leads the team in rushing? What’s the over/under for scores by the defense? We get into all of that and a lot more this week.

Episode 374: Sorry I Was Muted

Wednesday Sep 09, 2020
This week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast is one of our favorites every year as we give our annual preseason predictions. But before we get to that, we start with a (somewhat random) discussion of the proposal voted on unanimously (and randomly) by the ACC’s coaches to have all D1 teams take part in this year’s NCAA Tournament. From there, we get back to football and break down UVa’s schedule game by game, giving you our prognostications and then wrap up with a fun game: Name that number.

On this week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast, we do a sitrep on the state of college football and then turn our attention to UVa’s recent announcements about captains and jersey numbers before we dive into the idea of cross training with an eye on COVID-19 and what that could mean for the defensive backs. Finally, we dive into a discussion of late transfers, TV/kickoff times, and more as we get closer to our annual prediction show.

Episode 372: Call This Year A Draw
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
On this week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast, we spend the first part of the show talking ACC schedule changes, UVa at Tech potentially opening the season, and if the Hoos should still be trying to find a non-conference opponent. But the bulk of the program is full of real. actual. football. discussion. We talk about training camp, look at the negatives and positives on both sides of the ball, get into how well the transfers are doing, and then close things out with a discussion of how the NCAA’s decision on eligibility could impact Virginia and others in both the near and distant futures.

Episode 371: Optimism is Making a Run
Wednesday Aug 19, 2020
Wednesday Aug 19, 2020
On this week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast, we focus the bulk of our attention on the NCAA potentially granting all football players an extra year of eligibility regardless of playing status this fall/spring and what the ramifications of that might be for the class of 2021 and for the sport as a whole. We also talk about UVa’s fall camp thus far, the first number ceremony, and how we feel about things with a game presumably coming up less than a month from now.

On this week’s episode of the CavsCorner Podcast, we discuss the latest on football’s (hopeful) return and how difficult the landscape is to navigate despite the fact that many schools seem to be getting good news on the testing front. We also talk about UVa’s success off the field in landing grad transfer tight end Tony Poljan in what is by far one of the swiftest decisions in recent memory. And finally we finish out this installment with a look at the potential upheaval in college sports and how far reaching the various ramifications can be, often unexpectedly.
